¡Ya sé! Deletrear eso es un reto personal. Supongo que no lo es si eres ruso. Pero ellos ni siquiera usan el alfabeto romano. Pero como sea

El punto es: la moda y la ópera se juntan una vez más en esta editorial de Vogue Russia con el increíble, talentoso y sorprendente barítono ruso Dmitri Hvorostovsky. Y además tiene estilo: con su cabello blanco y su aguda selección de sastrería él siempre es alguien a quien mirar cada temporada.

Yes I know, that spelling is a personal challenge. I guess not if you are a Russian. But they don't even use a roman alphabet. Whatever.

The point is: fashion and opera are merged once more in this Vogue Russia editorial with the incredible talented and amazing Russian baritone Dmitri Hvorostovsky. And also stylish: with his white hair and sharp tailing choices he always is a one to watch every season.

Todos conocemos los libros de viaje de Louis Vuitton, y también todos sabemos que siempre las acompañan con el trabajo de algún nuevo-cool-chic-increíble artista (el cual también me causa depresión por lo buenos que son). Este es el momento del año en que están lanzando los nuevos libros de Londres, París, New York y (raro en una onda Louis Vuittonesca) Isla de Pascua.
El libro de Londres está ilustrada por la artista japonesa Natsuko Seki, quien mezcla la ilustración digital y a mano con la fotografía. Me encanta su trabajo. Y a ustedes también debería.

We all know of theTravel Books by Louis Vuitton, and we all know that they always call cool-new-chic-amazing artists (who also cause me some depression for them beoing SO good) to pair their guides. This is the moment for the new ones and they are launching the books for London, Paris, New York and (super odd in a LV way) Easter Island.
The London one is illustrated by the japanese artist Natsuko Seki, who mixes digital and hand illustrator with photography. I love her work. You should too.

Antes de que todo mundo empiece a hablar sin parar de The Great Gatsby y cómo es la más más mejor novela estadounidense pero (por supuesto) jamás la han leído y sólo lo hacen porque el filme de Lurhman está a punto (finalmente) de salir (así como todo mundo era súper fan del punk gracias a la expo del Costume Institute que ni han visto), les voy a compartir LA colección de menswear de este verano que reinará con su inspiración durante todo el otoño/invierno 2013 Y sprimavera 2014 (sí, cuando estén rodeados de copias de fast fashion de esta colección, totalmente pueden citar esta entrada en sus blogs. Van a ver. De nada). Por supuesto, estoy hablando de la colección de The Great Gatsby creada por Brooks Brothers. Y por supuesto, siendo la geek que soy, publicar el lookbook no es suficiente.

Before everyone starts talking nonstop about The Great Gatsby and how this is the best and greatest American novel but (of course) have never read it and it's just because the Lurhman film is about to be (finally) released (just like everyone was a punk fan thanks to the Costume Institute expo but they haven't seen it), I'm going to show you THE menswear collection that from this summer and will reign with is inspiration the whole autumn/winter 2013 AND sprin 2014 (yes, when you be surrounded by fast fashion copies of this collection, you can totally quote me in your own blogs. You'll see. You are welcome). I'm talking about The Great Gatsby collection by Brooks Brothers. And of course, posting the lookbook would not have been enough.

Flowers for spring? Groundbreaking.

Jonathan (de Agua para Nescafé) y yo tenemos esta especie de chiste local citando a The Devil Wears Prada y nos divertimos con TODOS los florales de primavera (en estampados, detalles, gráficos, etc.) y la gente que cree que son MUY trendy en este momento. Sí lo son. Pero con cada primavera también regresan los estampados florales.
Como sea, me encantan.

Jonathan (from Agua para Nescafé) and I have this kind of local joke with The Devil Wears Prada and we have fun with ALL of the spring flowers (in prints, detail, etc.) and the people who think they are SO trendy right now. Yes, they are. But every with spring also return the flower prints.
Anyway, I still love them.

Flower Power! NOT only for girls

¿Quién dice que las flores son sólo para niñas? Bueno, de hecho SON bastante femeninas pero también hay flores de hombre (ni siquiera estoy segura de que esto esté teniendo sentido), y esos estampados florales son CLAVE en esta temporada, así que no pretendan que no se los advertí dandies.
Esta tendencia es totalmente sobre el tipo de estampado que uses: porque NO es lo mismo usar una camisa hawaiiana sacada de Miami Vice que unos tenis de flores en miniprint o una corbata con flores ridículamente grandes. De hecho es un asunto bastante delicado. ¡Pero deja de correr en círculos como muppet! Aquí vamos a ver las claves para usar esta tendencia y no morir en el intento.

Who says flowers are only for girls? Well, they actually ARE pretty femenine, but there also are men's flowers (I'm not even sure that makes any sense), and those floral prints are a KEY PRINT this season, so you cannot pretend I didn't tell you this my dear dandies.
This trend is all about the kind of print you'll wear: it is NOT the same wearing a Miami Vice hawaiian shirt than floral miniprint sneakers or a ridiculous tie with huge flowers. It certeinly is a delicate matter. But stop running in circles like a muppet! Here I give you the keys for enjoy wearing the floral trend and not die trying.

Now and Then

Últimamente mi actividad favorita con mi mamá es ver Downton Abbey. Me encanta la historia, los personajes, la casa (¡OH POR DIOS la casa!), el vestuario (obviamente) y por supuesto, los hombres: desde el Earl con su cara de buena persona hasta el first footman que es súper hostil o el primo que es lindo y un poco fuera de lugar. TODOS con encantadores. Y no solo lo pienso yo, ya que el staff de GQ los vistieron en las colecciones de otoño 2012 para una editorial súper elegante y high fashion que los hace lucir igual de bien ahora que en la época edwardiana.
¿Qué opinan ustedes de toda esta elegancia y de estos caballeros?

Lately my favourite activity with my mom is watching Downton Abbey. I love the story, the charcaters, the house (OMG the house!), the costumes (OBVIOUSLY) and of course, the boys: from the Earl and his goodman face to the super hostile first footman and the cute-and-out-of-place cousin. ALL of them are charming. And not only I think so, since the GQ staff made them all wear the autumn 2012 collections for a super elegant and high fashion editorial that looks as good now and in the Edwardian era.
